UFAD Design Support
Plenum Integrity Guides
Tate Access Floors has developed best practices guides to aid Architects, General Contractors, and Commissioning Agents in the proper design and construction of an underfloor air distribution (UFAD) system. These trade specific guides, created from lessons learned through Tate’s experience working on a wide range of UFAD projects, will help to ensure the proper sealing and reduction of underfloor air leakage in an access floor air plenum. Furthermore, Tate strongly recommends a holistic approach to design and construction, including regular collaboration among the members of the construction team throughout the design and construction process.
Lessons Learned & Best Practices
As the industry leader in underfloor air distribution (UFAD) Tate has compiled the following lessons learned to provide vital information on UFAD design and construction to the A/E/C community. This section will explore issues found in existing buildings and provide detailed solutions to the problems. These lessons learned are provided to help others experiencing similar issues and to educate engineers and designers on best practices for future UFAD projects.
Consultative UFAD Presentations
Tate offers several presentations to educate and support you in the proper design and construction of a UFAD system. These presentations offer examples and best practice design techniques we’ve collected from the millions of square feet of access floor systems we supply to UFAD projects each year. We also have presentations that detail construction issues such as plenum integrity including proper sealing techniques and cleanliness. To schedule a consultative presentation with a member of the Tate team in your area visit the Contacts section of our website.
