Green Buildings
British Petroleum Helios Plaza
BP's facility at Helio Plaza in Houston is primarily used to provide more trading
floor and office space, supporting BP’s Integrated Supply and Trading function and
associated businesses. Adhering to BP’s high sustainability goals, the project team
created a 6-story 400,000 square foot facility that was awarded LEED Platinum certification
from the United State Green Building Council.
California ISO Headquarters
Security and space considerations were the driving forces behind the project; however, CA ISO seized the opportunity to lead by example, serving as a model for sustainable building design by using the latest green technology advances.
SAP Americas
This new award-winning building houses all the best aspects of sustainable design by combining geothermal wells, ice storage, under floor air distribution, radiant floors and a triple-glaze curtain wall to deliver and optimize the building’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HvAc) system.
Great River Energy
Great River Energy’s vision was to take the systems approach - to design a building
where all the components worked together for maximum energy efficiency. This project
emphasizes indoor environmental quality while reducing energy use.
Kansas City Power and Light
Renovating One Kansas City Place afforded the best opportunity to create an energy
efficient, LEED® certified workspace in downtown Kansas City and do so in a cost-effective
way.
Tesoro World Headquarters
The Tesoro headquarters is only the third new project in San Antonio to be LEED
certified, and it's the largest. To achieve the certification, Tesoro demonstrated
a commitment to sustainability by using accepted energy and environmental principles,
including a Tate raised floor and underfloor service distribution.
Kroon Hall
In order to bring together its different programs, Yale’s project team has created
its greenest building yet using a two-pronged design approach: first, minimize the
building’s energy needs through environmentally sensitive design, then design for
renewable and alternative energy sources.
Seven Generations Office Bldg A
Showcasing sustainable building practices as economically viable, the project team
for Seven Generations, LLC produced a design that uses raised access floors for
underfloor air distribution.
AAA
A new customer services operation has opened in Oklahoma City representing several
AAA clubs throughout the West and Midwest. The 150,000 square foot regional operations
center is the first build-to-suit utilizing elements of KDC Development Company’s
branded Intellicenter design, featuring under-floor air distribution and raised
access flooring.
Christman Headquarters
Christman's headquarters demonstrates a commitment to integrated and sustainable
design and construction. The firm set out to make it an example of sustainable redevelopment
at the same cost as conventional practices.
EcoPlex
As NavarroLowrey set about executing their plan for EcoPlex, they did so mindful
of the tenants that would eventually occupy the new space. Goals for efficiency
and sustainability were established to meet owner as well as tenant expectations
Bowie Corporate Center
An underfloor air system provides a cleaner environment for the Bowie Corporate
Center, while the underfloor wire and cable gives the flexibility for future changes.
Digital Realty-1500 Space Park
This data center possesses many pre-installed features to allow tenants to quickly
and economically install their required equipment, including underfloor air, wiring
and cable. As a result, it has become the first building in the city of Santa Clara
to earn a LEED-gold certification, specifically for Commercial Interiors.
Oregon State University
With an objective of creating a sustainable structure that integrates inspiring
architecture with advanced HVAC systems, the Kelley Engineering Center became the
first academic engineering building in the country to receive a Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design gold rating.
Premier Auto Group
The 300,000-square-foot North American Premier Automotive Group headquarters is
the first Ford building to secure LEED certification.
Bick Group Headquarters
Acting as its own design-build contractor for the project, Bick Group transformed
what was part open-warehouse print shop, part office space into a into a state-of-the-art,
showcase i-Building®.
National Business Park
One of 12 projects that COPT has registered in the U.S. Green Building Council's
pilot program for LEED Core & Shell Development, this project was designed with
a Silver LEED rating anticipated. Instead, it received Gold.
Santa Monica Library
As a green building, the new Santa Monica Library offers many benefits while providing
an inviting, friendly and comfortable place for library users of all ages.
Calgary Water Centre
Designers were looking for products that would result is a highly efficient building
that's easy on the planet and pocketbook. Tate's BTP was the elegant answer.
Johnson County Sunset Drive
When the county was looking to get out of leased office space back in 2003, Johnson
County deputy facilities director Neal Angrisano suggested that a green building
was not only environmentally-friendly, it was also a way to save money.
Capitol Area East End
The Capitol Area East end is the largest state government office project in California’s
history, the “greenest” ever built by the state. The Block 225 building includes
over a 1/4 of a million square feet of office space with raised floor & UFA.
Rand Corporate Headquarters
RAND Corporation is a leading research institution. With a goal of LEED certification,
one of its most striking elements to qualify are the vented windows and "fins".
Less noticeable but most important is the underfloor air conditioning and heating
system.
Applebees
Applebee’s wanted their new support center to revolve around culinary excellence,
be flexible, promote community, help attract and retain the best employees, promote
health and productivity, and align with nature. They found that many of these aims
could be met by environmentally sustainable practices.
Santa Monica Public Safety
In addition to providing a healthy and comfortable place to work, the City demonstrated
its commitment to the environment by designing the facility to be extremely resource
and energy efficient.
SSA Call Center
Originally constructed in 1943 as a military warehouse, the SSA Teleservice Center
building was essentially unchanged until 1989 when a portion was developed into
office space to support the SSA Auburn TeleService Center.
Northern Arizona University-ARD
Members of this project team understood that one of the best ways to meet its low
energy targets for ventilation was through the use of raised access floors with
UFA distribution.
Harvard School of Public Health
HSPH was founded in 1922 to advance public health. Through research & training programs,
HSPH recognized the need for an environmentally economic & efficient workspace when
designing new administrative offices.
