FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JESSUP, MD, JULY 9, 2007
Leading Canadian Manufacturer of Access Floors Becomes Tateasp™
Tate Access Floors, Inc. bolsters its market leadership in North America with the acquisition of ASPmaxcess®, a leading Canadian manufacturer of raised access floor systems. The Oakville, Ontario-based firm will continue its existing manufacturing and business operations in Canada under the new name, Tateasp™.
“Our acquisition of ASPmaxcess not only strengthens Tate’s overall market position in the U.S. and Canada, it also helps address the growing demand for sustainable flooring solutions in both regions,” said Ralph Mannion, general manager for Tate Access Floors. “The prestige of the Tate name, our global resources, innovative design and manufacture greatly enhances Tateasp’s ability to meet the demands of its dealers and customers.”
As the largest access floor manufacturer in North America, Tate Access Floors has a lot to offer Tateasp in the way of support. Its dealers will continue to enjoy the highest quality products and services. They will also benefit from a more streamlined supply chain; all of which helps Tateasp deliver the most effective flooring solutions to its network of authorized dealers and installers – for both new and existing construction projects. Tate dealers will now be able to distribute Woodcore panels manufactured in Oakville, Ontario. They are available in a range of factory laminated finishes.
Consisting of a high-density composite wood core, these panels have a class A flame spread rating and they provide excellent rigidity, durability and acoustic performance. In addition to general office applications, Woodcore panels also work well in equipment facilities, datacenters, and telecommunications sites.
The Woodcore product line is now available on Tate’s website and in its design and specification manual. Panel drawings for these products can be downloaded in CAD and PDF formats. In addition, full information on architectural details and systems specifications are also available online.

ABOUT ASPMAXCESS
ASPMaxcess became a leader in the raised floor market in Canada in the late 1980s under the name “asp.” It began focusing on the U.S. market in 1991 with the acquisition of Mult-A-Frame (MAF) Corporation in Pontiac, Michigan. As a result of its success by 1995, asp was spotted and acquired by Hitachi, Japan’s leading maker of raised floors. Hitachi renamed the company Maxcess Technologies. Not until 2001 was the name changed to ASPMaxcess.
